About Clerva

What is Clerva?

Clerva is a fine jewelry brand creating everyday pieces and custom jewelry for people who choose with clarity.

We focus on real materials, thoughtful design, and jewelry that can stay with you through different stages of life — not just for one season, but for the person you are becoming.

What does Clerva mean by “jewelry as a witness”?

To us, jewelry does not always need to symbolize forever, perfection, or a relationship defined by someone else.

Sometimes, jewelry is simply a quiet witness — to your growth, your choices, your contradictions, and the moments that shaped you.

Who is Clerva made for?

Clerva is made for self-defined individuals who are financially responsible, emotionally honest, and clear about what they want.

Our pieces are for people who value beauty, but do not need to be defined by it.

Materials & Jewelry Care

What materials do you use?

Clerva uses fine jewelry materials such as sterling silver, vermeil, solid gold, lab-grown diamonds, and selected gemstones.

Material details vary by piece and are listed on each product page. Please refer to the product description for specific information about metal type, stone details, and care instructions.

What is vermeil?

Vermeil is a higher-quality form of gold-plated jewelry.

Unlike standard gold-plated jewelry, vermeil uses sterling silver as the base metal, with a layer of real gold applied over it. This makes it a more refined and longer-lasting option than ordinary brass or copper-based plating.

At Clerva, vermeil allows us to create pieces with the look and warmth of gold while keeping them more accessible than solid gold.

Is vermeil the same as solid gold?

No. Vermeil is not solid gold.

Vermeil has a sterling silver base with a layer of gold on the surface. Solid gold, such as 10K, 14K, or 18K gold, is gold alloy throughout the entire piece.

Vermeil is a beautiful and more accessible option, but it requires more care than solid gold and may gradually show wear over time, especially with frequent contact with water, sweat, perfume, lotions, or friction.

Is vermeil better than regular gold plating?

In general, yes.

Vermeil is considered a higher-quality option because it uses sterling silver as the base metal instead of brass, copper, or other lower-cost metals. It is a good choice for customers who want a more elevated piece than standard fashion jewelry, but are not yet ready to invest in solid gold.

Do you use lab-grown diamonds?

Yes. Some Clerva pieces feature lab-grown diamonds.

Lab-grown diamonds have the same optical and chemical properties as mined diamonds. They allow us to create fine jewelry with strong visual impact, responsible sourcing, and more accessible pricing.

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds.

They are created in a laboratory environment rather than mined from the earth, but they share the same chemical composition, crystal structure, and visual characteristics as mined diamonds.

Will my jewelry look exactly like the product photos?

We do our best to show each piece as accurately as possible. However, slight variations may occur due to lighting, screen settings, hand-finishing, stone cutting, or natural material differences.

For custom pieces, small variations are part of the making process and make each piece more personal.

How should I care for my Clerva jewelry?

We recommend keeping your jewelry away from water, harsh chemicals, perfume, lotions, chlorine, and heavy impact.

When not wearing your piece, store it separately in a soft pouch or jewelry box to avoid scratches. Clean gently with a soft cloth after wearing.

For vermeil pieces, extra care is recommended. Avoid wearing them while showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping to help preserve the gold layer.

Custom Jewelry

Do you offer custom jewelry?

Yes. Clerva offers custom jewelry for selected designs and special requests.

Custom pieces are created for customers who want something more personal — whether it is a specific stone, setting, design detail, or a piece that marks a particular moment.

How does the custom process work?

The custom process usually includes:

  1. Initial consultation

  2. Design direction confirmation

  3. Stone and material selection

  4. Quotation

  5. Production

  6. Final quality check and shipping

The exact process may vary depending on the complexity of the piece.

How long does custom jewelry take?

Custom production time depends on the design, material availability, and complexity of the piece.

A general production estimate will be provided before you confirm your order.

Can I make changes after confirming a custom order?

Once production has started, changes may be limited or unavailable.

If you need to make adjustments, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to help, but additional costs or extended production time may apply.

Are custom pieces returnable?

Custom pieces are made specifically for you and are generally not eligible for return or exchange unless there is a confirmed quality issue.

Please review all details carefully before confirming your custom order.

Orders

How do I know my order has been confirmed?

After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation email with your order details.

Please check your email address carefully at checkout to make sure you receive all updates.

Can I cancel or change my order?

If your order has not entered production or fulfillment, we may be able to help you cancel or modify it.

Please contact us as soon as possible. Once an order has been processed, shipped, or entered custom production, cancellation or changes may no longer be possible.

Do you offer gift packaging?

Yes. Clerva pieces are packaged with care and are suitable for gifting.

If you have a special request, you may contact us before placing your order.

Warranty & Repairs

Does Clerva offer a warranty?

We stand behind the quality of our jewelry. If you experience an issue related to craftsmanship, please contact us with your order number and photos.

Each case will be reviewed individually.

What is not covered?

Our warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, improper care, loss, theft, third-party repairs, or changes made after purchase.

For vermeil pieces, gradual fading or surface wear caused by regular use is considered normal wear and is not covered as a manufacturing defect.

Do you offer repairs?

Repair options may be available depending on the piece and the issue.

Please contact us with your order details and photos so we can assess the repair possibility and provide next steps.
